Event Details

Join us for the 2nd Annual Black Women’s Wellness Conference (BWWC18) Saturday January 13, 2018 from 9:00 am-5:00 pm at the New Orleans Jazz Market in the beautiful city of New Orleans, LA! The theme for this year’s conference is (Re) Claiming our Bodies, Renewing our Minds, Reconnecting our Spirits.

Black women are more likely than any other group of women of color to suffer from poor mental and physical health yet are least likely to seek help because of costs, stigma, lack of access, and lack of psychoeducation about prevention and treatment. Mental health issues like depression, anxiety, and trauma as well as physical health issues like obesity, hypertension, and stress continue to affect Black women at alarming rates. What does this mean? WE ARE NOT WELL! The goal of BWWC18 is to prioritize Black women’s physical health by bringing in local health and wellness professionals to address factors that uniquely impact our health and wellbeing and offer practical tips and solutions to help us lead wellness-driven lives! Some of this year’s conference topics include: how to promote and maintain weight loss, how to identify sources of stress and tips for stress-free living, how holistic and integrative health (yoga, mindfulness, breathing) promote mental and physical wellbeing, and much more! So if you are ready to join countless other wellness-driven Black women who are ready and willing to take charge of their health so that they can live their best lives, register now for the 2nd Annual Black Women’s Wellness Conference!

Registration includes: conference admission, conference booklet, swag bag, lunch and snacks, and access to Wellness Lane vendors! Immediately following the conference, meet and connect with Dr. Wilborn, BWWC18 conference speakers, and other conference guests during cocktail hour (open cash bar) at the Bolden Bar, in the beautiful lobby of the New Orleans Jazz Market.
