Please join Women With A Vision, Inc. (WWAV) in bringing together Black women to craft a progressive reproductive health, rights, and justice policy agenda for Louisiana!

WHAT: Black Women’s Reproductive Justice Convening for Louisiana

WHEN: Saturday, December 10th, 2016, 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

WHERE: Dillard University, Professional Schools and Sciences Building, 2601 Gentilly Blvd, New Orleans, La. 70122

Through the Black Women’s Reproductive Justice Convening for Louisiana, WWAV seeks to organize Black women to stand together to transform local, state, and regional policies that hinder our reproductive health and well-being, and to address the social and health disparities that impact our community.

The convening will create a space to discuss the reproductive justice needs of Black women and girls in Louisiana and across the Deep South. WWAV understands that now is a critical moment for this conversation, and we are excited to create a space for learning and community building. WWAV is also excited about working with Black women leaders to promote progressive change in the South, using the intersectional lens of race, class, gender, and sexuality.

The event is free and open to the public, but will center the voices, lives, and experiences of Black women and girls. WWAV is grateful for support from the National Institute for Reproductive Health in hosting this gathering.

***
The convening is part of WWAV’s My Existence Is Political campaign, which is an advocacy, education, and community mobilization project focused on uplifting the voices and supporting the leadership of Black women and girls in New Orleans and across the Deep South.

Founded in 1989, Women With A Vision, Inc. (WWAV) is a community-based non-profit working to improve the lives of marginalized women, their families, and communities by addressing the social conditions and punitive policies that hinder their health and well-being.
