New Orleans Advocates for GLBT Elders (NOAGE), in partnership with CrescentCare and NO/AIDS Task Force, would like to invite you to New Orleans’ first ever Summit on HIV and Aging. It will be on Saturday, Nov 16 from 8:00AM-4:30PM at CrescentCare (1631 Elysian Fields Ave., New Orleans, LA, in the Second Floor Conference Room).
We welcome people who are living and aging with HIV, along with healthcare and other service providers, activists and policy-makers.
The keynote speaker is Bill Gross of SAGE Positive, and SAGE’s Aaron Tax will be leading a session on policy matters. Other sessions will include: HIV and Aging 101 (Nicholas Van Sickels, MD); HIV, Aging, and Anal Cancer (Jake Rickoll, BSN, ACRN); and Addressing Isolation in PLWH Aged 50+ (Catherine Roland, Ed.D., LPC). The summit will conclude with a panel discussion (3:00-4:15PM). Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all in attendance.

About the Keynote Speaker Bill Gross, Program Manager of SAGEPositive: Bill Gross has worked at SAGE for over 4 years. As SAGEPositive Program Manager, he is in charge of all HIV and sexual wellness programming including support groups, workshops, social events, and testing days. He is also Manager of the Friendly Visitor Program, supervising nearly 100 volunteers in ongoing weekly visits to isolated clients. Bill has worked with LGBT non-profits for almost 3 decades, starting as a volunteer HIV counselor at Philadelphia’s Mazzoni Clinic, and later running programs at Gay Men’s Health Crisis and Callen-Lorde Community Health Center. He sits on the New York City HIV Planning Council and is a founding member of the Long-Term Survivor Wellness Coalition, a collaborative of agencies dedicated to improving the lives of the HIV long-term survivor community. When not behind a desk, Bill has also enjoyed a career as a professional actor and singer, graduating from The Juilliard School, and performing at theatres in New York and across the country.
