Booking 101: How To Get The Gig (#HTGTGNOLA) will assist New Orleans based musicians, bands – and/or their representatives – in building their knowledge bases on what venue owners, bookers, festival producers, etc. are looking for from artists and how to be in that selection pool.
After #HTGTGNOLA, attendees will have gained hands on experience heard directly from music industry professionals, better organizational skills, the ability to write clear/concise emails for booking purposes and also have the opportunity to network with like minded artists and individuals with similar career objectives.

W Tyler Allen – Beginning his career with Sony Music Entertainment and RED Distribution, Tyler is dedicated to giving veteran artists the tools to preserve their legacy and new artists the tools to begin theirs. Jocelyne M. Ninneman – This Detroit native has worked as a booking agent with a boutique agency specializing in soul, funk, hip-hop, worldbeat and house, representing artists such as Questlove, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Aloe Blacc, J. Dilla, etc. Former booker/curator at Gasa Gasa music venue, now serving as Three Keys Venue Programmer, Bookings and Promotions Manager for the Ace Hotel New Orleans.
Fatima Aarabi – Artist booking and management for Hip-Hop artist Dee-1. Post Katrina, she was Introduced to the music industry through Atlanta based A&R company, Talent Unlimited.
Truth Universal – Trinidadian born, Truth Universal is a staple in the New Orleans Hip Hop community and has been a leader on the southern Hip Hop scene for more than a decade. He’s shared the stage with the likes of Talib Kweli, Dead Prez, Mos Def, The Roots, Alanis Morrissette, etc. His 2008 release, “Self Determination” was covered by The Source Magazine, OkayPlayer.com, among other music outlets.
