(XXL) – Young Greatness first dropped “Moolah” in 2015, but it really took off in 2016. The New Orleans rapper looks to score another hit as the year comes to close with his new single “Nikes” produced by Drumma Boy. Young Greatness has also given the song the visual treatment, taking to the streets of his hometown for the video.
The Quality Control artist experienced a lot of triumph this year, but he did not get a spot in the 2016 XXL Freshman class. Young Greatness reflected on his absence during a recent conversation with XXL.
“You have a lot of artists that are trendy, but they don’t have a big standout record,” he said. “Even this year, some of the artists that were on the XXL Freshman list, I feel like I had a record that was bigger than all theirs, but they were more trendy. Sometimes you have to use what you got going on to get to the next thing, and that’s what I’m doing, using ‘Moolah’ as a stepping stone to get to the next level.”
