(The New Orleans Advocate) – Soon after a rapper affiliated with Lil Wayne allegedly took part in a double killing that left two brothers dead and shell casings littering a suburban street in New Orleans East last month, he took to Instagram with a tribute to one of the victims.
“Love u Blood,” Widner “Flow” Degruy wrote in one post. “(W)e was just turning up at da tune show.”
But New Orleans police said Tuesday that despite the 23-year-old Degruy’s online show of sympathy, he was involved in killing fellow rapper Kendrick Bishop, 22, and Bishop’s 18-year-old brother Kendred on Memorial Day. Both men were shot inside a black Kia in the 4800 block of Bright Drive about 5:45 a.m. May 25.
NOPD spokesman Officer Frank Robertson said police had obtained an arrest warrant for Degruy and intended to book him on two counts of second degree murder. They are still looking for an unidentified second suspect.
Since the shooting, Degruy has twice taken to Instagram with memorials to the older Bishop, an aspiring rapper who was known as Muddy Cup Buddy.
